A man charged with manslaughter in a car crash from 2009 has filed a motion to dismiss his case due to jurisdiction questions.

Steven Wade Jameson is charged with three counts of first-degree manslaughter in an automobile crash that happened on Christmas Eve in 2009 in Sand Springs. Now, due to the Supreme Court ruling in the McGirt v. Oklahoma case, he has petitioned for his case to be dismissed.

Jameson pleaded guilty and was sentenced by a judge to 24 years in prison. In January 2016, Jameson’s conviction was vacated, and he was freed. In 2017, the Oklahoma State Court of Criminal Appeals overturned that decision and Jameson returned to prison.
