Former Tulsa Fire Captain Awaiting Federal Trial Arrested In Kansas For Eluding Officers, Theft

Police are investigating after a former Tulsa Fire Captain currently awaiting a trial for bank robbery was arrested by Lyon County deputies.

Former Tulsa Fire Capt Jerry Brown is set will go on trial in federal court in November for bank robbery charges. According to the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma, authorities initially received a report that Brown was potentially kidnapped from his home in Bixby early Monday morning. Around 3:30 a.m. Nowata police officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle registered to Brown and say that he eluded officers and disappeared.

At 8:30 a.m., Brown was arrested by the Lyons County Sheriff’s Office for alleged theft of gasoline and evading authorities.

Brown remains charged with two counts of Bank Robbery in the Northern District of Oklahoma.
