Broken Arrow Nonprofit Granted Electric Vans Thanks To White House Program

A Green Country nonprofit hopes to reach more people this year thanks to some new vehicles.

Broken Arrow Neighbors (BAN) is getting four electric Ford transit vans thanks to a White House program.

BAN said it also received a nearly $500,000 grant from state and local leaders to fund the additions.

"It's helping us work towards a better future here at Broken Arrow Neighbors. We’re looking toward the long-term goal of being as carbon-neutral as we possibly can. But that’s also saving $500 a week here," said Megan Quickle with BAN.

The nonprofit uses the vans about 52 times a week to distribute food and is currently looking for volunteers to drive the new vehicles.
