City Of Tulsa On Standby For Potential Winter Weather

The City of Tulsa said it's already prepared for the potential of winter weather next week.

If conditions warrant, crews and resources are ready. That includes 63 salt trucks, about 6,500 tons of salt and 25,000 gallons of salt brine.

There's also a total of 52 large snowplows.

Spreading and plowing routes are prioritized based on traffic counts.

The City is responsible for clearing snow and ice from all main streets as well as the LL Tisdale Expressway and the Gilcrease Expressway, except for the turnpike section.

All other highway segments fall under the Oklahoma Department of Transportation's responsibility.
