The Cherokee Nation is celebrating the opening of a new 4,000-square-foot tag office in Stilwell.

According to the tribe, the new office will cut down on travel for thousands of Citizens in Adair County.

Before the office opened, citizens had to travel either to Tahlequah of Sallisaw, which are each about a half-hour from Stilwell.

There are now seven tag officers throughout the tribe's reservation.
